Privacy Policy — Merge & Serve

Effective: July 25, 2026 (draft for review)

The short version: the game works offline, has no accounts and no in-app purchases, and the game itself sends nothing anywhere. It is funded by ads: optional videos you choose to watch (to unlock themes and earn boosts) and occasional full-screen ads between levels. The only data that leaves your device is what the advertising network collects when an ad is shown.

What the game stores — on your device only

Your progress (levels, stars, coins, unlocked themes, best Endless scores), your settings, and a small local log of anonymous gameplay events. All of it lives in local files on your device. There is no cloud save: we cannot see your progress, and we cannot recover it for you.

Advertising

The game shows ads through a third-party advertising network: occasional full-screen ads between levels, and rewarded videos you can choose to watch — to unlock a theme, continue a run, double coins, or claim a free booster. The ad network is the only third-party service in the game that handles personal data.

When an ad is requested or shown, the ad network's SDK — not us — collects data such as: device identifiers, including the advertising ID (IDFA on iOS) where you have allowed it; coarse location inferred from your IP address (roughly city level — the game never asks for location permission); which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped; and device diagnostics related to ad serving (model, OS version, performance).

The ad network uses this data to serve and measure ads, prevent fraud, and — where you have consented — personalize ads. We never receive this data ourselves; we only see aggregate reports such as total ad revenue. This data is handled under the ad network's own privacy policy, which we link from this page.

Your choices about ads

iOS App Tracking Transparency: the first time the game wants to show ads, Apple's standard prompt asks whether the app may track you. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", the game works exactly the same and ads still appear, but they are non-personalized. Change this any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

EEA / UK (GDPR): the game shows a consent form before any personalized ad can be served. You can consent, refuse, or choose per purpose — refusing locks you out of nothing; ads are simply non-personalized. Review or change your choices any time under Settings > Privacy Choices in the game.

California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell your personal information — we hold none to sell. The ad network's serving may count as "sharing" under California law; the tracking and consent choices above, plus your device's ad settings, are how you limit it.

App Store

If you tap RATE when the game asks for a review, your device opens the App Store — from that point Apple's own privacy policy applies. Apple may also collect crash and usage statistics for developers, controlled by your iOS settings (Share With App Developers).

Children

Merge & Serve is a general-audience game and is not directed at children. The game itself collects no personal information from anyone; ads are configured for a general audience.

Deleting your data

Delete the app, and everything the game ever stored is gone — there is no server. Ad data held by the ad network is under its control: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings to limit it.

Changes

If a future update changes any of this — for example, if the advertising partner changes or online leaderboards are added — this policy will be updated first, and the change will be called out in the update notes.
